SUMMARY:Next-Level Musical Improv with Baby Wants Candy
DESCRIPTION:Next-Level Musical Improv \n\n\n\nPrerequisite:No improv experience needed. Musically\, you need to have either taken “Help Me Improvise a Song” this year or last year\, or have experience in musical theater\, singing\, or songwriting. \n\n\n\nThis is an excellent workshop for those who have some basic musical improv and/or singing experience\, but feel like they need help in taking the next step. We will work on more advanced song structure and song types (e.g\,tagline songs\, duets\, love songs\, trios\, etc) and introduce concepts of using songs in narrative structures.  \n\n\n\nWhile the weekend intensive explores the full arc of building a musical improv show\, including scenic transitions\, “choreography”\, and ensemble storytelling\, this Friday evening session is your chance to zoom in on the heart of musical improv: the songs. \n\n\n\nWith 4000+ shows and 2 shows a day during the 4 weeks of each Edinburgh Fringe Festival\, and thousands of students over the years\, Baby Wants Candy have honed their musical and non-musical improv skills and courses\, and for sure will have great tools to share! \n\n\n\n*** \n\n\n\n\nCapped at 12 participants\n\n\n\nLive piano by Adrien\n\n\n\nCost: 75 CHF\n\n\n\n\n*** \n\n\n\nCancelation policyWe know life happens\, but no-shows deprive other folks of a chance to learn and makes it hard for us to pay our amazing trainers. We can offer a 50% refund if you cancel by Tuesday 26 August at 10pm. After that\, you will be charged full price (or you may find a replacement who can take your place). \n\n\n\n******** \n\n\n\nAdrien Pellerin is an NYC-based actor\, improviser\, producer\, pianist and musical director. He has served as musical director for Baby Wants Candy and Shamilton all over the world for many years\, including for BWC’s scripted hit show Thrones! as well as our runs at Adelaide Fringe\, Edinburgh Fringe\, the Kennedy Center and in New York City at UCB\, BCC and Caveat. His work has appeared on Comedy Central\, Adult Swim and Funny or Die. He performs sketch comedy and musical improv regularly in New York City and at festivals around the world. Adrien returns for his third trip in Geneva\, and will be at the Edinburgh Fringe prior to arriving. \n\n\n\nBaby Wants Candy is one of the most popular and celebrated comedy ensembles in the world. Currently\, BWC has open runs in Los Angeles\, New York City\, and Chicago\, as well as an international touring company with over 4000 improvised musicals and counting! BWC has performed and led workshops for thousands in the US\, Asia\, Europe and Australia\, our scripted shows have been translated into 11 languages (including French and German!)\, and have enjoyed 9 fully sold out Edinburgh Fringe runs.
